📦Returns Policy

At The English Chess Company, we are committed to ensuring your satisfaction with every purchase. If for any reason you need to return a product, our returns policy is designed to make the process as straightforward as possible.

🔄Change of Mind

If you change your mind, please notify us within 14 days of delivery. Failing to do so will forfeit your right to cancel or return the product.

🎁Returns - Unused and in Original Condition

You may return items within 30 days from the date of purchase, provided they are unused and in their original condition.

Customer Responsibility: The customer is responsible for covering the return postage.

💰No Restocking Fees

We do not charge any restocking fees. However, the item should be returned in a condition close to new. The customer bears the cost of return postage, except in cases involving damaged goods (see below).

💳Refunds and Store Credits

Refunds are processed automatically to the original payment method unless you request a store credit. Store credits can be used for future purchases or later converted to cash if preferred.

Note: Postage fees are non-refundable.

Postage fees are typically non-refundable, except in the event of a shipping error on our part.

🔧Damaged Goods

If your product arrives damaged, you will not incur any additional postage charges for a replacement.

Report Damage: Contact us within 2 days of receipt to report any damage. Claims made after this period cannot be processed.

🚚Returning Your Product

To return an item, please use a signed-for, insured postal service and retain proof of postage. You will need to provide a receipt for postage costs if applicable.

Important: We cannot refund or replace items damaged due to insufficient packaging on return.

⏳Processing Time

Please allow 7-10 days for any credit adjustments or refund processing related to returns or modified orders.

🛡️Consumer Protection

We fully comply with The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. Customers within the European Union have the statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 working days from the date of receipt.
